An underserved point which was needed given some of the other results on the day. Left home at about 12:50 with Dad and walked to Tooting station. Got the 13:11 train to West Sutton and got there just after 13:30. Sold programmes at the Collingwood Road and finished just after KO. Went and sat in the main stand with Dad for the rest of the game. First 5 mins, Southport looked awful and I was thinking it would be another North Ferriby game whereby after we got one we would get a load more. We took the lead about 30 mins in but we're not playing well enough and didn't really deserve to go in 1-0 up. 2nd half was an awful performance by us and we played as if it was a pre-season game. Southport scored 2 goals in about 5 mins to take the lead and deservedly so. We didn't seem like scoring at all and it looked as if we would be dragged back into the thick of the relegation battle but Roarie popped up at the end with another late goal to rescue a point for us. We didn't deserve anything out of the game and Southport didn't look like a side who were bottom and on the verge of relegation. We then got the 17:11 train back to Tooting and walked home from the station and got back at about 17:45.
