Such an unbelievable day. Clinching the league title and promotion to the EFL for the first time in the club's history in the first game in front of supporters for five months. Left home at about 11:30 and walked to Tooting station and got the train to West Sutton. Got to the ground at about 12:15 and stood in the Gander Green Lane terrace. We started the game the better but Hartlepool had the better chance after hitting the inside of the post within the first 15 mins. After that, we took full control and opened the scoring through a free-kick from Milsom on 35 mins after a goalkeeping error. Thoroughly deserved and took the lead into HT. Hartlepool came out after HT and started the better side and had the ball in the net within the first couple of minutes but it was ruled out. We then took control once again and had a number of chances to double our lead before Louis John scored from a corner on 75 mins to double our lead. Olaofe put the icing on the cake 5 mins later scoring a third goal and sending everyone behind the goal bananas. Stayed behind to watch the trophy presentation and celebrations with the players and eventually got the train home from West Sutton to Mitcham Eastfields before walking home from there getting in at about 16:15.
