Comments :
Went to the game as a neutral but left feeling very sorry for Daisy hill. Whilst it can''t be argued the away team were the stronger team in the first half two key decisions may have swung the game in their favour. Firstly two LR players ran into each other with no home player in sight and the ref inexplicably awarder a penalty which was dispatched, the fact that no one players, bench or crowd appealed or reacted speaks volumes as we were all as dumfounded as each other. Shortly after that the away no7 swung an elbow that floored the home No2 and went unseen. I can''t say as to if their was any intent but know that in most cases it would have resulted in a red card, after the physio had been on the ref told both captains to control their players? The 7 protested his innocence to the crowd but it was as clear as day. The lead was doubled after the ball bounced around the box before being fired in from the right from around 14 yards. A third was scored before half time as a backpass under pressure was intercepted and fired home in a one on one. The second half started with Daisy putting pressure on and at one point should have had a stonewall penalty when Bruno? was felled in the box but once again the ref disagreed. LR had a goal disallowed for offside before being awarded a fouth after an effort hit the bar and the linesman deemed it to have crossed the line, whilst most of the away fans celebrated by the corner flag the no6 chose to boot the ball out the ground and into the adjacent field. In a bad tempered game LR had a player sent off although from where i was it looked a 50/50 but the home defender reacted badly. On another sour note i did hear a homophobic jibe from a player in front of the dugout but play had been at the other end so i couldn:t be sure of the culprit.
