Comments :
Went with Lee as had a free Saturday and not a lot to do. It was the first neutral game we had been to for a while and meant that we had both visited Stevenage should they win promotion this season. It was a pretty uneventful trip and Lees driving has much improved since he moved in with a driving instructor! The game wasnt to bad and Workington who are in a league below did well and for 70ish minutes looked like they may get a result. At the end Stevenage were pleased to get a result and avoid a replay and we were also pleased as were worried they would play an extra 30 minutes! It was freezing at the end and we were both pleased to get on our way home.

Went with Rob. Left Witham around 1pm and made good time to Stevenage with no real delays. Parked at an out of town shopping centre and walked to the ground which was nearby. Only £13 to get in, we stood on the terrace behind the goal in the home fans. Match was ok, Workington took the lead in the 1st half and looked the better side. After the break Stevenage scored a very good equaliser when a neat lay off set up the striker to curl the ball in from 18 yards. Stevenage had several other chances before scoring the winner in the 7 minutes of stoppage time that was added on for consistent trips on to treat injuries to Workington players - Rob reckons they kept pretending to be injured just to be rubbed up by the female physio! Trip home went quickly!

Match no. 988. Conference North side Workington took the lead on 25 minutes but Stacy Long equalised (53) and then scored a dramatic winner 4 minutes into added time.
