Game number 9. Took just over 2 hours to arrive at Prenton Park. On the motorway on the way to the ground a massive bird of prey flew almost in to our windscreen.
We were able to park at the ground as Dawn from the club had given us a complimentary parking pass. We almost had lunch at the italian restaurant across the road but in the end decided to go to the pub next to the ground called The Mersey Clipper. Inside they had about 10 large tv''s all showing the live premiership game (Everton 3-1 Man Utd).
We ordered a pint and also the all day breakfast. The young barmaid asked Alec Do you want the mega-breakfast? Alec asked what that was. Her reply in her strong Scouse accent was Its the same, only bigger!. You probably had to be there. Breakfast was good though. Pub was very friendly and had lots of visiting supporters in there.
In the stadium we bought tickets for the Kop end. You were able to sit anywhere you wanted within this stand. The game itself was ok. Tranmere led 2-0 but it appeared the home fans knew this may not be enough and got on the back of their team. Orient did get a late consolation as the game finish Tranmere 2-1 Leyton Orient.
