The ground was first used in 1905 by Northfleet United FC and by 1908 the facilities included a small stand on the west side. A main stand was built on the east side in 1914 and by the time that Gillingham FC played here, a cover had been erected at the south end and the west side had been terraced and a new cover installed.

The venue is still currently in use. as the home ground for Ebbsfleet FC.

If driving to ground: From the M25 (South): Leave the M25 at Junction 2 and take the A2 towards Dartford/Canterbury M2 Then at the fourth exit take the M2 Canterbury. Merge on to the A2 continue down then take the slip road for Gravesend and Northfleet follow the signs for the A2260 at the roundabouts towards Northfleet & Gravesend then at the lights turn left onto Thames Way. Keep on this road until you reach the second roundabout then take the second exit past the Kia garage and at the next roundabout the ground is in front of you. From the M1 (North) - Dartford Bridge: Leave the M1 at Junction 6A for M25 After coming over the bridge keep to the left hand lanes and after passing through the toll booths turn left at the roundabout onto the At junction 1A, take the A206 exit to Swanscombe/Erith/Bluewater Then take the third exit onto Cotton Lane (B3328)at the lights take a left onto London Road (A226), towards Northfleet. At the second roundabout take the third exit (A226) down Galley Hill Road and go straight on keep on this road until you reach the ground on your left. There is some parking available behind the Swanscombe End at a cost of Ł3. Parking is available on matchdays in Car Park C at Ebbsfleet International rail station, which costs Ł2'. The car park is about a five minute walk away from the ground. Otherwise there is nearby street parking available.
 
If using Public Transport: Train from London St Pancras then change at Gravesend to Northfleet which is the nearest station to the ground only a 5 minute walk away from the ground. Just come straight out of the station and turn left at the top of the road past the Plough Pub to the ground. The alternative is to take the train from London St Pancras to Ebbsfleet International and it’s also 5 minute walk to the ground straight up the road over the railway bridge and at the roundabout turn left past the Kia garage and at the next roundabout the ground is in front of you, the ground is across the road.
