GROUND HISTORY adapted from "The Ultimate Directory of English & Scottish Football League Grounds"

Although no map exists, from contemporary accounts an accurate diagram of the ground can be constructed. The facilities included a 600 seat covered seated stand on the north side, a pavilion at the east end and duckboards around the perimeter of the pitch. The ground was located to the north west of the town centre, at the north end of what is now Leamington Road and Blackburn Rovers FC moved here from Alexandra Meadows in 1881. They joined the Football League as founder members in 1888 and moved to Ewood Park in 1890, the site of the ground quickly being redeveloped with housing.
