GROUND HISTORY adapted from "The Ultimate Directory of English & Scottish Football League Grounds"

Notts County FC moved from Trent Bridge to Meadow Lane, sandwiched between the River Leen and Sutton Street, in 1910. The facilities included a main stand on the south side, a cover on the north, embankments at the west end and a stand which had been removed from Trent Bridge and re-erected at the east end. The final major improvement prior to WWII occurred after the river was culverted, allowing for the construction of a new and larger stand on the north side.

The record attendance of 47,310 was set at the FA Cup 6th Round tie v. York City  (0-1) on March 12th, 1955 and the only alteration prior to the 1990s was the demolition of the stand at the east end in 1978. In 1992 new all seat stands were constructed at each end and on the north side and, in 1994, a new main stand built giving an all seat capacity of 20,300 by the start of the 2007/8 season. The pitch size was 117 x 76 yards.
