I got 7.45 from Paddington to Cardiff, the a local train to Grangetown to walk to the Cardiff stadium to get my bearings for the quick exit I was going to have to make after the game. Then walked back to town. Had coffee in city centre church refectory, then walked to the National museum for a look round. Texted Mike Brennan, who''d driven up with Jan and Dixie to Lee''s house, Adam coming on the club coach, to arrange to meet at the Prince of Wales (Wetherspoons pub near the station). He thought they could be there by 12.30. I got to the pub at 12.50 and no sign of them. They eventually turned up at 13.50 for a quick pint before catching the train to Grangetown again. (they were delayed as Lee had to pick up son, George, from football). Got to our seats as the players were coming out of the tunnel, Adam already there with companion he''d travelled up with on the coach. Fulham gave debut to unknown teenager Corley Woodrow.
Cardiff went one up, we equalised to give us hope of a point, but they scored two further goals to seal the win and much disappointment for us. I scooted off in injury time to avoid the crowd, for a brisk walk to the station, for the 17.25 back to London. That''s no 91 of the 92 league grounds visited.
