Part of a three day - three match Irish trip or so I thought. This was a perfect example of why anoraks like me love pre-season games. It was the first time we saw Steeeeeeed in a Sunderland shirt. Pity he didn''t quite live up to expectations. I had a lovely few days in Ireland and enjoyed the wonderful hospitality of Athlone but not the accompanying headache I vaguely recall.
