Went with Charlie and left home in Chester at about 11:45 and walked to Bache. Got the train up to Liverpool and then changed on the train to Southport. Got to the station at about 14:10 and walked for about 30 mins to get to the ground. The ground itself is a very nice, old school ground with some re-development works being done on the stand in the past couple of years. The game itself wasn't the greatest. The first half was a pretty dull affair with not much quality in the final third from either side with Brackley looking the better side on the ball but Southport having the better chances. The 2nd half livened up a bit with it becoming a bit more end to end but, again, not much quality in the final third. Around 60 mins, Southport were awarded a penalty for handball which was dispatched by their skipper. Brackley had a couple of chances to equalise in the last 30 mins but no clear cut chances and the game finished as a 1-0 home win. Walked back to the station and got the train back to Liverpool and then to Bache. Got back home at about 19:30.
