GROUND HISTORY adapted from "The Ultimate Directory of English & Scottish Football League Grounds" |
|
Located at the rear of the Greyhound Hotel, on the south side of Nottingham Road, it was principally utilized for cricket until Loughborough FC started using it in 1886. The dressing rooms were located at the rear of the Hotel, and the facilities included a pavilion on the north side and a small grandstand on the south. The record gate was probably the 10,000 who attended the Midland League match v. Leicester Fosse on October 7th, 1893. After Loughborough FC failed to gain re-election to the League in 1900 the ground was demolished in 1908 and the site subsequently covered by housing. |
