Food & drink
The Berkeley on Wallgate near the railway station visited this place admittedly after seeing it listed in good beer guide but from outside it looks far too trendy and lively to be the pub, then I walked in and discovered a sixteen barrel beer fest with beers straight from the barrel Otherwise alcohol is available inside the stadium with a dedicated away bar and the Jacobs Well Pub a good mix of away supporters serves five ever changing real ales
If driving
Leave the M6 at Junction 26 take the M58 exit to Skelmersdale/ Southport. From the South get in the right hand lane and follow the road markings for the A577 round the roundabout under the M6, from the North take the M58 exit to Skelmersdale/ Southport then at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A577. Follow the road down and then turn right onto Orrell Road and follow the signs for Wigan town centre then at the roundabout take the first turn left into Robin Park Road and continue into Scot Lane. The ground is down Scot Lane on your right.
Public transport
Wigan's central railway stations (Wigan North Western & Wallgate stations) are a good 20 minute walk from the ground or break up the journey with a few pub stops on the way! On exiting Wigan North Railway Station turns left and go down the road heading under a railway bridge. On leaving Wallgate station turn right and go down the road passing Wigan North station on your left and then proceed under the railway bridge and walk down the Wallgate to the Roundabout then. It is a fairly straight walk along Robin Park Road passing the Jacobs Well Pub, when you reach the Seven Stars Hotel then turn right down the road to the stadium, or take a shortcut along a Leeds and Liverpool canal to the stadium off the Wallgate.
