...yes, I actually have to admit, when I was young and innocent, I did actually visit Trumpton twice (so called by us City fans as it was so tiny). My first visit was for my friend's birthday, who very unfortunately happened to be a Gashead.   To say it was a bit of a culture shock after the relative luxury of Ashton Gate was a bit of an understatement.   The ground was tiny, made up of a ropey main stand with a bit of terracing at the front; The Bath End, a tiny bit of terracing behind one goal which got smaller and smaller the closer to the main stand it got, until there was only one step to stand on; The Bristol End with old-fashioned anti-hooligan pens and fencing and The Popular Side, another pretty small covered terrace.   We sat in the main Grandstand.  I remember the leg room being a bit poor even for an 8 year old and a grumpy pair of OAPs sat in front of me who told me to stop kicking the back of their chairs.  Sags eh...never happy.   The game itself was a pretty comprehensive win for Rovers, but I remember the first moment I knew I could never be a blue:  Glenn Humphries, who was due to be playing for Doncaster, had just signed for City.  At the end of the game the PA Announcer gleefully announced City had lost with Humphries scoring an own goal on his debut.  The cheers that rang round still echo in my ears!
