Having visited the ground now a number of times I am still impressed with it. This however was my first experience and I was very impressed indeed. It has a very picturesque setting on the riverbank and inside is equally impressive, except for the now ageing main stand. I sat in the upper tier of the Trent End and the views were excellent. Forest started brightly however it was County who took the lead through a scrambled opener after a neat cross from Alan Sheehan. Forest drew level through the impressive Lewis McGugan and his brilliant free-kick. Into the second half and Forest regained the lead with Robbie Findley's first goal for the club, somehow beating the keeper. However with just over 10 minutes remaining former Forest youth player and the youngest player ever to score for Forest (Craig Westcarr) drew County level at 2-2 to send the away support crazy! This took the game to extra-time. County fans must have thought they'd won it after Lee Hughes (very unpopular) fired in off the post to make it 2-3, however an absolute Worldy from Wes Morgan with about 8 seconds remaining to make it 3-3 and to take the roof of the City ground! As a result the match went to penalties and with the scores at 3-3 Lee Hughes had the chance to send county through however he blazed over. Luke Chambers slotted his penalty and then Notts County captain Bishop missed the crucial spot kick and somehow Forest went through 4-3 on penalties. It was a truly exciting spectacle particularly for the neutral and just enhanced the soft spot I now have for Forest.
