An almost perfect day ! Made good time travelling up and had a couple of excellent pints in the Ivanhoe Hotel about 6 miles from the ground. Good friendly banter with the locals. Parked up and got to the ground in good time. The game itself was a real two-half affair. Doncaster played some good stuff in the first half without creating many chances. There was an amazing 10 sec spell when we had 5 chances, from our corner, Keogh hit the bar, Ward shot and it was cleared off the line, Keogh hit the bar again, a shot was cleared off the line and then a shot went over. Second half (despite reports !) I thought we battered them but it did look as though we'd have to settle for a draw until Neill (he used to be shite, but now he's all right) Collins scored from a Kightly free-kick. Collins was only because Mancienne was taken ill in the warm-up. Easily our man-of-the-match. A great atmosphere, disco, loads of singing .. .fantastic. We win and go 7 poitns clear and then we still manage to get back to the car and get away quick enough to be on the motorway for 5.10. Excelelnt so I was back in Shropshire in time for the Dr Feelgood gig. Reading beat Birmingham earlier and so we're top by 7pts. We're still not confident of gonig up thoguh ! That said ... Merry Christmas from the top of the league !
