I have been to mumerous games at St mary's but have put this game in so it can appear on my list of ground visited
Scorers n/a This game was dire, went to Southampton to visit a mate and catch this game and looking at both teams I will be amazed if either stay up this season (2008/2009). Southampton need a finisher - the decision to bring Stern John on with 5 mins to go was strange, to say the least - while Barnsley need to be able to pass the ball to each other, although Ian Hume missed an open goal late on. Was very impressed with St Mary's Stadium. Southampton: Davis, Cork, Wotton, Perry, Mills (John 85), Wright-Phillips (Thomson 61), Gillett, Surman, Lallana, McGoldrick, Pekhart. Subs Not Used: Bialkowski, Dyer, Davies. Booked: Surman, Gillett. Barnsley: Muller, Foster, Moore, Guedes, Kozluk, Campbell-Ryce (Devaney 71), Colace, De Silva (Hassell 76), Howard, Hume, Odejayi (Macken 76). Subs Not Used: Steele, Leon. Booked: Colace. Att: 14,836. Ref: Andy D'Urso (Essex).
