Blues started nervously and a horrendous tackle mid way through the first half, got Carsley a deserved sending off. A mix up just before half time between Hennessey and his defence allowing Jerome to get in between and he scrambled the ball over the net. An unconvincing 2nd half and O'Conner got the winner by pouncing onto a poor Berra pass back. IT really looked as thoguh we'd lost momnetum and that Blues would catch us for the title. They were 2 poitns behind and we had been most unconvincing. After the game we were kept out in the rain by an unnecessarily large turnout of riot police. We had to watch as the Blues fans wandered passed some throwing coins, but the police jsut jkept facing us. After half an hour we were "escorted" down the road when I was able to break away and get to my car. A most desperate night and one of the nights when you wonder why you do it.
