Fabulous day. Sun blazing and a huge game which Shrews must win to get in the play-offs. Not easy considering they had only won twice away all season and the Daggers needed just a point from this game to secure the play-off berth. A great turn out from Shropshire, about 1400, and the singing and noise was relentless. Shrews took the game to Daggers in the first half, 2 up could have been more. Amusing moment when a bloke jumped over the wall and calmly walked toward the Shrews end and then equally relaxed jumped over the wall to join us. He then started chanting at the Daggers fans and was greeted as a hero. Trouble was he was wearing a bright green distincitve jacket so the police equally clamly wandered into the crowd and "escorted" him back via the Dagenham end and out. Second half was edgier after the Daggers pulled a goal back with 30 mins remaining. In truth though the Daggers lacked a "cutting edge" and both holt and Chadwick missed chances to make the game safe. Eventually got on the pitch at full time (3rd in 3 weeks for me, after Molineux when we clinched promotion v QPR and at Oakwell when we won the league!). All very good natured and the Dagenham fans were so sporting. Loads of handshakes and congratulations after the game. Quality day. Quality fans.
