Game 12. This was the first game of our second season. We thought we would get the train to Lincoln. We arrived pretty early and so we wandered through the town centre. Having both been to the town before we both knew about steep hill. Even though we knew just how steep it was Alec thought that we should go up it. I knew that there was a pub at the top called the Magna Carta so at least we could get a drink at the top. We sat upstairs in the pub, ordered some food and had a pint. Outside near the castle was a group of older people about to protest about something. We were trying to work out what it was but neither of us got anywhere close to the truth. It was a dairy protest. We sat behind the goal with a handful of the local retards (maybe a bit harsh - simpletons is perhaps more appropriate). Torquay had started the season well and were in charge of the match fromm the off. On this form Lincoln will struggle. Torquay won 2-0. We got the train home and we had decided to meet our wives in Nottingham for some food. We went for a Greek. Alec and Jo told us at the end of their meal that they had had a small win on the lottery the week before and wanted to pay for the whole lot! Not a bad day at all.
