Bring me sunshine .... in your smile .... bring me laughter .... all the while. The home of Eric ''he''s not gonna sell much ice cream going at that speed'' Morecombe. Great statue of the man on the seafront and great views across the sands over to the lake district on the other side of the bay. They played bring me sunshine over the tannoy before the teams came out + the band (trumpet and 2 drums) on the West Terrace played it during the match. Pre match there was a one min silence for fellow Lancastrian Sir Tom Finney who had died a few days earlier - impeccably observed by both sets of fans. I stood on the uncovered, icey cold North Terrace - 3 sides are terraced - only the (softie) South Side has seating. Blood and guts game of dubious quality on the worst professional pitch I''ve ever seen. Bobbles, mud and ruts + more sand than Morecombe beach. But entertaining - and the Shrimpers thoroughly deserved their injury time equaliser. Whatta ya think of the show so far - rubbish! I slapped the great man''s statue on the cheeks before I left - I think you''ll find, I''m playing all the right notes, but not neccessarily, in the right order!
