Left my house in Chester at about 8:20 and got the 8:55 train to Crewe where I changed and got the 10:01 train to Coventry station. Once I got there I got the train to Coventry Arena where I met Dad at about midday. Went to Frankie and Bennie's on the retail park next to the ground for lunch. Left there about 13:30 and drove to park the car near the motorway in a club car park. Then walked about 15 mins to get to the ground and collected tickets and went in. The ground itself is a decent ground but not one, in my opinion, made for football as its much more commercialised and doesn't strike me as one that is home for Coventry City. The fact the club doesn't own the ground is the reason why there is no club shop at the ground or anything like that which is a shame for the club. The game itself was a strange one. Luton were by far the best side and played some lovely stuff around the edge of the box but just couldn't find that final ball and were very shot shy throughout. Coventry were poor for most of the game and struggled to spread the ball around. Luton deservedly took the lead after about 40 mins from a corner which was tapped in to make it 0-1 which is what it stayed till HT. Coventry came out slightly better in the 2nd half but still didn't create enough up top to have chances. Luton doubled their lead about 60 mins in through some very good play down the right hand side before being drilled across and tapped in to make it 0-2. It looked like they'd go on to extend their lead but not much happened until the last 5-10 mins of the game when Coventry started to push and eventually scored through a penalty in the 95th minute. The game finished 1-2 and we walked back to the car leaving the car park at about 17:20. Got home at about 20:20.
