This has to be the most disjointed football ground I have ever visited (even worse than Hereford !!). Either the Architect was blind (or wearing eye patches on both eyes) or 10 Nursery Children were asked to design a separate part of the ground not knowing what the other was designing and then make it out of Lego. The first impression as an away supporter is How the hell do I get in. This is eventually solved by an aperture appearing between two blue posts that is the width of a fag paper. Once inside I can happily announce that all the stewards were extremely polite and courteous and very helpful. Same cannot be said for the Burger Stand girl who really did not seem like she wanted to be there, with people skills akin to Vlad the Impaler. However that said, she must have been in her element when a MK Dons youth team player trying to impress in the warm up managed to clear the practice goal and the stand with his wayward shot and plant the ball firmly through the said glass fronted Burger van, much to the amusement of all around. I spotted her straight on her mobile, probably to a Taxi firm. Surprisingly, the Burger Bar opened for business again at half time with a healthy queue of punters purchasing their Burgers, Hotdogs and associated Pies. I did spend some time watching these individuals in the second half for any signs of bleeding from the mouth. Would you like onions or shards of glass with your Burger Sir !! The game itself was superb. MK Dons started the game with 11 Academy and apprentice players. From myviewpoint I calculated that the average age on the pitch of our team must have been approx. 11 !!. That said they performed very well (were times when it reverted to school football when everyone chases the ball) but overall they should be very proud of themselves. Having gone 2-0 down the inevitable happened and 2 x professionals were brought on (Dean Bowditch and Daniel Powell) and that made all the difference as we won 2-3. Anyway that said it is another ground off the list, and I have not been to The Madjeski stadium either so looking forward to that in round 2. !!!
