A good seat although a bit tight on leg room. Another poor away performance from West Ham who never competed in any aspect of the game. On exiting the ground at full time we were not allowed to leave the stadium the same way that we had gone in (by the police) so we had a very sweaty 30 minutes or so trying to find another route back to the car amongst the Man City fans!!)

My first trip to the City of Manchester stadium. Impressive ground. Average match between two average teams. Mascherano and Tevez both played for the Irons, though neither did so to any great effect. The Premier League was clearly going to take a bit of getting used to for both players. An indication of City''s level at this juncture is that the useless plank known as Giorgios Samaras was a regular starter in those days. Mind you he did score a very good goal.
