My first ever away game.  A lad off my course at uni who I became friends with was a Grimsby supporter and decided we should go and see the match.  The most eventful part was probably the train ride from Birmingham, where we were joined by a fellow City fan who was so p#ssed up on cider that he didn't even manage to make it to the stadium! City were having a really disappointing season.  Our strikeforce was great and as usual we managed to grab at least one goal through Soren Andersen.  Unfortunately our defence stank and we conceded two goals in the 2nd half.  At least I got into this game free...some kind City fan had a comp and offered it to me.  It was a pretty chilly evening, with the wind whipping off the Borth Sea, as I recall, with a low turnout from City as you might expect.  The stadium itself seemed reasonable for a club of their stature.  I remember how bizarre it was to experience, for the first time, a home side cheering a goal when being an away fan.  I never actually got to see Grimsby in the daylight!
