| Play-off semi-final, first leg. Had spent the night before on the lash in Blackpool with my then girlfriend. H'Angus (the Hartlepool mascot) got thrown out and/or arrested for being drunk. One of my last games for the Daily Mail. The press box was behind a goal cos the ground was being rebuilt. Gavin McCann (who'd played for England earlier this season) was stood in front of us, wearing an old skool Brazil shirt with 10 on the back.
