Bleurgh coach left at 05.30 AM thanks to BT''s decision to broadcast the game live, would have recorded the game to watch back, but they changed the goalposts and the sign up fee within 24hours of giving me a quote so i got the hump and decided not to join- their loss! Was awake at 4 and the journey was flawless which was a plus but we still arrived two hours before kick off. Not much to see in Welling but once in the ground most people where friendly with the exception of half a dozen twelve year olds who with fifteen minutes to go decided to stand yards from the away fans with no segregation and continually swear and insult the away fans under the protection of two policemen standing behind them who amazingly did nothing and luckily none of our idiots where their to rise to the bait. The home side edged the first half and our keeper probably deserved the man of the match however when Maynard headed us in front in the second half we had the upper hand and the Superwhite army woke up, a second looked on the cards until a bizarre sending off. An off the ball incident was missed by most but reports from those watching back home suggest Sutton walking backwards knocked one of their players over who stayed down holding his face with the commentary team saying it was a bad call. We then became more under the cosh for the remainder of the game but looked to be holding out until corne hit a 25yard worldy that went in off the angle.

Tranmere visits 1 W0 D1 L0 GF1 GA1. The early kick off for BT sports television coverage led to having to get up around 4.30 AM. A second half header from Maynard looked to have Rovers on the road to 3 points despite Welling shading the 1st half until ''THE'' red card (later recinded) after it was deemed a home player had pretended to have been elbowed in the face. Down to ten men Rovers conceaded a sublime late equaliser to ultimatley have to settle for a point.
