This day was just one of those grim days you get as a football fan. Left home at about 12:30 and got the 127 and 280 bus to Sutton. Got to the ground at about 13:15, and went to sell programmes at the Collingwood road end only to find myself working on the turnstile as well. Finished working when kick off happened and walked round to the main stand to sit with Dad and Joseph. As I was walking round Harrison had a chance to take an early lead which he should've taken but didn't. About 5 mins later, Bromley opened the scoring from a corner which was tapped in from their number 9 in scrappy fashion. We then dominated the ball for the rest of the half but didn't really create any clear cut chances and didn't seem to manage putting the final ball in until Beautyman had a header tipped over the crossbar by their keeper. From the resulting corner, we shot ourselves in the foot and for some reason committed every player forward for the corner leading to the ball being cleared and the Bromley player having the freedom of our half to run into the penalty area to be fouled by Butler and have a penalty. They doubled their lead and it turned into a mountain to climb for us. Didn't offer enough in 2nd half and didn't create enough clear cut chances to say we should've got back into it. We might have had a chance towards the end of the game had the referee not sent Collins off for no reason. Bromley added a third about 10-15 mins from time and wrapped up a horrible day and meant that the title has all but been given to Macclesfield. Got the 280 and 201 bus back and got back at about 18:15.
