Poor old Southport. In 1972 they had joined Liverpool, Burnley and Bolton as Lancashire champions of their respective Division. By 1975 they had fallen to 23rd in Div 4, a position they held for two more seasons until the League ran out of patience and voted them out. The programme was a single sheet of card and the gate 1044, rather better than the Lincoln game when 871 showed up. One fan missed most of the match. The ball hit the girders holding the roof and bounced down smashing this glasses. He did not miss much.
