Cracking football match - end to end, loads of action, 4 goals, really good for the neutral. Everton fans there in numbers, including 20 or so in the Wigan stand close to me. They gave themselves away as soon as Everton scored. The Latics fans didn''t like them being there (understandably) and there was some nasty banter. Loads of police/stewards piled in and two Everton fans were arrested and the others warned to behave. Loved the Monkees tune I''m a pie eater + the car sticker No pies are left in this vehicle overnight. But Wigan town is a really sad looking place. Even the star attraction, Wigan Pier, is a sad shadow of it''s former self. The best thing about Wigan seems to be the football team and the DW stadium!
