Nehru Gold Cup. Romania and South Korea also played in this stadium in the same group. Stadium recently opened. Built in under 9 months and was excellent. Main stand entrance was magnificent - marble steps and marble flooring. I was seated in the VIP area, to which I was directed in the lift (!). Luxurious padded seat. Capacity of 40,000. Superb design (Swedish??) to catch any ocean breeze to refresh the fans. Cameroon celebrated their goal in the style of Roger Milla, having a boogie with the corner flag. The Indian fans loved it. India''s equaliser was a beauty struck from outside the box. The scorer was a weedy looking left winger. Think he was called Vijayan, and was, maybe, from Kerala. India''s best player was a very short midfielder from the north-east, looking a bit like a gurka.
