Pokey ground. Pompey fans were crammed into a small space at one end, and spilled onto the pitch due to severe overcrowding. Police reacted by using their truncheons to drive fans back into the already overcrowded section. Crowd control like this causes serious incidents. Fortunately on this occasion no-one was seriously hurt.
