Not being able to get to the Brighton match, Vicarage Road seemed like a perfect alternative - a new ground, supporting a team against the scum and all for only Ł5!
We couldn't have asked for more from the game, a seven goal thriller. Watford went into the break deservedly leading 2-0, but Palace pulled one back early in the second half. Watford, though, resisted the pressure and went on to seemingly make the game safe at 4-1. A late Palace rally meant the score was 4-3 in injury time, but it was too little too late for the Eagles as Watford held on to make the fifth round.
Unfortunately the old stand, unused, on one side of the pitch somewhat ruins the overall look of Vicarage Road, but once redevelopment is complete this will be a very good stadium. The Hornets fans make a decent noise for a home crowd, although the attendance of 10,000 at reduced prices against London rivals was dissapointing.
