Comments :
Match no. 8. First visit to Wembley Stadium. A coach trip from my junior school in Wood Green, North London. Still have my ticket and a special match preview edition of the Evening News bought on the way in to the ground. The individual England players went on to win a combined total of 125 full England caps, all of them by one man - Peter Shilton! The England captain was Paul Went (Orient, Charlton etc) and Alun Evans (Wolves, Liverpool) scored from a penalty. The England star was Paul Shoemark, who scored twice. He signed for Spurs but never made it in the game.
