Football League Cup A travesty of a scoreline as for 70 minutes the game was evenly matched but then Spurs scored their second goal and John Lyall sent on sub Paul Hilton (for left-back George Parris) and sent him up front as an extra forward! Spurs took full advantage of the huge gaps in the West Ham defence and Clive Allen completed a hat-trick.
