This was not the most convincing of Forest performances but the home side were entitled to feel they did enough to extend their remarkable record over Bristol City. The visitors have now gone 29 matches without beating Forest and not won at the City Ground since 1955. It is a miserable sequence and, although there were a few anxious moments for Forest in the second half, City never looked like they were capable of bringing the run to an end on a night when their lack of potency in attack was once again exposed.
