A trip to Burnley was next on the list and for the first time Fletch, Joe, Warren and Ash all went together.
A two and a half hour journey was the plan and then the lads where looking forward to having a good hour or so in the pub before the game........................not to be !! A few fights had broken out outside the ground so the good old old bill kept us waiting for a hour at the end of the motorway !! Eventually about 2:45 we arrived at the ground !! No messing about, straight to the bar, the beer was awful, some dodgy forign lager at 3.4% or something rediculous, even so we still got two down our necks before kick off !!
The game began and the 1100 travelling supporters had a awful start as Burnley went in front after just three minutes !! A crazy couple of deflections about twenty minutes later and the ball fell kindly for Nicholas Bendtner to equalise !! Half time and another couple of crappy pints !!
The second half inproved and both teams pushed for a winner !! The best moment of the match come in the eighty third minute. DJ Campbell was brought on, all 1100 Birmingham supporters chanted ''D D D D DJ Campbell D D D D DJ Campbell'' as the fans favourite come on and within about thirty seconds he delivered !! Nicholas Bendtener cross shot fell kindly and Campbell poked home from a couple of yards out. Campbell raced to the Birmingham supporters behind the goal and the fans went wild. Blues won 2-1 and they players and staff applauded the supporters at the end, the Birmingham fans continued to chant DJ Campbells name !!
Back home and a few beers in town to celebrate !! Stevie Bruce is having a party !!
