Match no. 1164. FA Vase 1st round proper. After extra time. Score at 90 minutes 1-1. Stanway Rovers won 5-4 on penalties. Both clubs had agreed to extra time and penalties rather than go to a replay. Hertford actually scored a goal in the first minute when a low, inswinging corner from the left found its way through a crowd of players and clearly crossed the line before the Stanway goalie scrambled it clear but neither the referee or linesman spotted it.
