| I first went to Crewe on 9 Sep 1961, leaving Hull Paragon at 5.36am and not getting to Crewe until mid-day. I was 12 in those days and planned my journey on my own changing at Leeds, Stalybridge and Stockport. I travelled alone then & now. Today, it took 90 mins from London Euston to Crewe, notwithstanding it''s further in distance. I didn''t recognise ANYTHING from 1961 although I can''t believe everything has changed in 53+ years.
