Comments :
Second of three games in four days having travelled to Stevenage the day before and taking in our home game against Luton on Easter Monday. Had to detour to North Wales to pick familly up for the Scottish leg although i would be doing the game on my own we stayed in Glasgow Saturday night. For one reason or another only got to the ground 20mins before kickoff paid the £3 parking and headed in. The game started brightly and the first half hour was good with both sides creating chances and both keepers doing well the most noticable difference was that Brechin gave no quarter with all challenges being robust and the referee being reluctant to give freekicks eventually the Morton players frustration boiled over after one particularly rash challenge five cards where shown in quick succession four of which went to the away side. Brechin had contributed well until this point and had a goal ruled out for offside. In the second the game deteriated and the quality disappeared, had Brechins tactics worked? With around 15mins left Brechins left winger Barr jinked into the box passing several players before a block tackle ended the run, the ref awarded a harsh pen which he despatched much to the derision of some of the home fans who made their feelings known, Barr didn''t go down (again) without a fight retorting you''d love to have me in your side! A late freekick from Masson sealed the points although Mortons keeper positioning was questionable, again a shame as both keepers had excelled up to that point.
