This game is one of those milestones - its the first game I can ever remember going to - went with my Dad and Uncle Geoff - I had no idea of the importance and was plonked on a crush barrier to be able to see - it was only at half time it was pointed out to me that Bolton did not play in blue...went on to loose the replay at Burnden....

Although I am told I had been to Goodison Park before this with my father - this is the first game I can remember much about - it was the League Cup semi-final 1st Leg and was an 'extra'  surprise for my 8th Birthday nine days earlier. The only thing I remember about the game is Neil Whatmore equalising for Bolton from a free kick on the edge of the box in the 89th minute.
