At the start of the day Alloa where only one of three Scottish league teams that i hadn''t seen play a game home or away but were proving to be a bogey ground none the less. I first set sight on the ground the evening i went to watch a game at Stenhousemuir and was impressed by the way the ground looked although by the time of my next visit, their had been many changes, some land sold off to KFC apparently getting rid of a large terrace in the process, the road i had come in on over the level crossing had had it''s access closed and a fair size car park had been sealed off and abandoned. This second trip was a late diversion as a weather effected weekend had my planned game postponed and my mate advised me to go to Alloa as they had an artificial pitch however that game was a cup game against Aberdeen in torrential rain and little did i know it was an all ticket game and despite fans leaving the ground to seek shelter from the rain i couldn''t talk my way in. So third time lucky? No chance! The forecast was bad but i called the club from Carlisle on my way up and they reassured me the game was on and the last abandoned game there was 2007 due to fog. I called in at Clydes ground on the way up, i had done this some years previously but didn''t have a camera on me at the time and i new it wasn''t far off my route but by the time i left the snow was coming down quite thickly. On arriving in Alloa my worries had seemed unfounded as their was no hint of snow, a micro climate just surrounding Clyde i thought. A quick look around the town and into the ground. The game started and all looked fine however shortly after kick off it started to snow, Alloa took the lead in the 41st minute through Duffy and held the lead at half time. It was a novelty to see the stewards and ballboys brushing the snow off the lines to make the area visable for the second half but their efforts where in vain and the referee abandoned the game around the 66th minute mark. A long and hairy journey home followed with tretcherous road conditions. It''s proved nigh on impossible to get the attendance figure for the game and as the stats don''t count for anything i don''t feel i can count this as a ground off my list but what awaits me on visit number four??!
