At the Deva Total visits 9(+2) Tranmere visits 1(+2) W1 D0 L0 GF1 GA0 plus two reserve friendlies. Other games v Lincoln 94/5 Carlisle 99/00, Rushden & Diamonds 00/01, Yeovil 04/05, Boston 04/05, Macclesfield 05/06, Altrincham 09/10 and Hyde 13/14. Tranmere sold their allocation of 1100 tickets in three days for this deeply anticipated fixture, the first 1st team fixture in Chester between the sides since 1990 (although they played each other the following year when Chester were groundsharing at Macclesfield). Chester offered little in the way of a goal threat with McNulty totally in control of defence and Jennings having a great game in midfield. Once again we didn't look that sharp in front of goal ourselves but created several chances, the Chester keeper making several saves and one chance cleared off the line. A Norwood penalty gave us the three points after a soft foul on Mekki, it was a deserved win but at times you felt a goal wouldn't come. Some decisions went against us in particular an off the ball kick on a Rovers player in front of the ref only resulted in a yellow card and late on we should have had another penalty for one of the most blatent handballs by a Chester player stopping the ball from going in from inside the six yard box but all appeals where dismissed.
