On a course in the midlands all week so decided to take this game in particularly as former Tranmere loanee Adam Dawson was supposedly playing out the season here after impressing with us earlier in the season and also the connection with rovers legend Ian Muir. I travelled by train changing at Birmingham New street it took around an hour and 20 mins to arrive in Nuneaton but according to my research the ground was supposed to be two miles away on an industrial estate, Unfortunatley i''d knackered my legs trying to do a spin class for the first time the night before and was struggling to walk but decided it was the best bet to get my bearings as i only had half an hour after the match finished to catch my train and it appeared not to be on a bus route. It took 30 minutes to get to the ground so it would cut things fine for that train. The ground had been predominantly a rugby ground however the football club appeared to be the major concern here now. I was disappointed to find that Dawson hadn''t fully recovered from his hernia op and had only featured twice of the bench before being released two weeks prior. The programme featured a wrap around cover as the original game had been postponed. I stood near the halfway line but the game was a little drab, Harrogate were in the playoffs and Nuneaton just outside. The most noticable name on the teamsheet was Marlon Harewood who came off the bench with about twenty minutes remaining. Nuneaton looked to have a strong claim for a penalty but the ref seemed well placed and declined the oppertunity to liven up proceedings. After the match i jogged as best i could to the station and made all connections arriving back around midnight very sore!
