Ryan Jarvis gave Orient an early lead (13), but debutant Sawyer brought Southend Level. This formula repeated itself. This time Chambers nodding home, with Sawyer again capping an excellent debut with his second. However, the second half was all about the pikey visitors, with JJ Melligan netting to give them the lead, and Boyd settling the game with a penalty 4 minutes from time after Christophe had hauled him down in the box.
