First competative game for city after returning as a league club this year. To make things interesting the away team (formerly meadowbank thistle) had this stadium as their home ground for 21 years from 1974-1995 ironic as it''s taken a further 21 years before the two teams would meet in a competative fixture tonight. Some compared the fixture as Scotlands Wimbledon/MK Dons. To be fair Livingston dominated possession with city having the odd counter, lots of fouls in the first half disrupted the flow but the breakthrough came with a mix up between defender and goalie was deemed a backpass and the fk on the dead ball line was lifted over the wall giving Mullin a free header. The second came on the stroke of half time from namesake Mullen drilling home from just inside the box, the whistle blue as the restart commenced. In the second half Livi carried on the same with a shot slamming against the post and having another ruled out for a foul but added a third from Buchanan after the ball was hooked back from the by-line and drilled in from the opposite side of the goal. Edindurgh for their part also hit the bar forced the keeper Kelly into a good save and missed a third great chance near the end with a free shot inside the box sailing high. Met a few ground hoppers outside including two Stokies and a couple fm down south Watford and Charlton.
