Tranmere were looking the more likely to go ahead in the second half right up to the point Maynard threw out a trailing leg to concede a soft penalty 11 minutes from time, the heavens opened and shortly afterwards Aldershot blasted in a third from the edge of the box after a half cleared corner. Rovers record unbeaten run was over.
