TOTAL VISITS 4. TRANMERE VISITS 3 PLD 3 W1 D2 L0 GF3 GA2 OTHER VISIT V ROTHERHAM. Coach left at 10am and arrived around 4pm for this 5.30 kick off to accomodate BT sports tv coverage. Dagenham where top of the league and rovers 4th at start of play and with rovers down to the bare bones with a small squad stretched to the limits due to injuries and suspensions with the bench made up mostly of youth loans. The first half was even and entertaining with the daggers coming closest near half time when scott davies made a tremendous save to keep the scores level at the brake. Unfortunately rovers were reduced to ten men early in the second half when Ihiekwe was deemed to have fouled on the edge of the box but it was too far away to judge if it was the right call(another suspension doh...)but rather than go into their shell they still put in a great shift, dagenham did have a spell of pressure and again came close to scoring but shaved the post. The final word went to Rovers though as with the last kick of the game Cook drilled a low shot inches wide from just inside the box when everyone thought it must be the winner, he then collapsed with a mixture of increaduality of the miss and exhaustion, the game could have gone either way but for shear character and playing with ten men for more than half an hour in the second half i don''t think you could have begrudged rovers the win had that last shot found the net. Coach arrived back at 1AM but outside factors meant another 90minutes before i could hit the sack blurry eyed.
