I was a little apprehensive about the travel arrangements once I arrived in Manchester but it was much easier than I thought. I walked from Piccadilly to Victoria Staion in about ten minutes. Then it was a 20 minute train journey to Rochdale for £2.85 return, with my Railcard. I then walked for a few minutes into town where I caught the 468 direct to Spotland. The crowd were good humoured and I enjoyed the day. The Scunthorpe fans on the bus back were foul-mouthed but they were told to show more decorum in front of children. Quite right too.
