So with no game for Tranmere i had a free weekend, initally i had three choices- West ham v Stoke, Clyde v Elgin or this one. To be fair Clyde would have been my first choice but with a hefty bill coming in my finances for the month would be tested plus my mate tony had earmarked this one regardless so i found myself picking him up at 11.30 and hitting the road. Having witnesed the last game at Fyldes old ground(with tranmere) in pre season i had passed the new ground and called in for pictures and a nosey then but this would be my first game at their new mill farm ground and it didn''t disappoint and certainly looks a club going places. The sports bar attatched to the main stand was swish with approximetly THIRTY television sets including nine linked together for a giant screen. The programme for £2 looked pretty decent and even though this was a top v bottom clash in the first half the team looked decent too. Tony due to the nature of his job had ants in his pants and for the first three goals we were stood behind the flat open ended goal before moving to the side terrace but still closest to that goal where we saw the fourth before moving further down the side close to the opposite end for the second half where their would be one last goal. The stats state Rowe got a hatrick with Bradley and Williams with the others. To be fair Staylebridge dominated possession in the second half whilst rarely threatening whilst Fylde had another three decent chances and looked more of a threat when they did get out of there half. The first half Fylde where dominant and on 13 mins a low driven cross was fired into the bottom corner of the near post before shortly after a quick throw in caught Staylebridge cold and another low shot was driven through the away keeper and into the far corner of the net . The third was a bit of pinball passing inside the area resulting in a finish from close range, the fourth saw a staylebridge player head against his own bar but the nearest home player slipped when preparing to strike but the ball found another player to drill home. In the second half the scoring was completed with a flicked back header from a deep angled cross which again found the top corner. The only downside was the bitter cold wind which felt very wintery indeed
